TASKA Coaxial Plugs and Low Profile TASKA Hands connect to sensors via standard 3-pin ‘halfmoon’ connectors. The TASKA Hand is recommended to be used with the power system included with the hand. However, the hand is also compatible with 3rd party power systems that meet the following specifications:
- Provide nominal 7.4 Volts (Li-Po)
- Are certified to the appropriate safety standards (IEC 62133:2012 or IEC 60086-4 appropriately) and UN38.3.
- Do not allow hand functionality while the batteries are charging.
- Can supply a maximum momentary discharge current of up to 5A for full grip strength performance.
- Have capacity > 14Wh
Consult your TASKA representative for advice on the correct settings when operating the TASKA Hand with 3rd party power systems. The Power Switch included with the TASKA Hand is only compatible with batteries supplied by TASKA Prosthetics. The Quick Disconnect TASKA Hand is compatible with most industry standard Quick Disconnect (QD) Wrists. These include, but are not limited to:
Forearm Endcap
Coaxial Plug (4 or 6-band variants)

QD Lamination Collar – (4 or 6-band variants)

The Low Profile Lamination Ring is the only wrist connection compatible with the Low Profile TASKA Hand (included with hand).

An upstream control system, is required to operate most rotators. Discuss with your TASKA representative about control systems required.
The Low Profile TASKA hand is not compatible with wrist rotators.

All TASKA Hands include Hydroseal™ Waterproofing Technology to provide an IP67 waterproof rating, allowing immersion up to the Wrist Flexion Buttons.
In addition, immersion up to the first opening on the arm socket is allowed for the following TASKA Hands with Hydroseal™ Waterproofing Technology included in the wrist connection:
Low Profile TASKA Hand (when using the provided Low Profile Lamination Ring). Quick Disconnect TASKA HandGen2 when fitted with a Seal Ring and attached to the matching wrist connector.
These combinations include:
TASKA Seal Ring -> TASKA Lamination Collar
MC Seal Ring -> Stepped-type Motion Control Forearm Endcaps and powered wrists (purchased after 2019)
TASKA does not accept responsibility for the waterproofing integrity of the wrist connector installation into the socket.

The Lamination Collar can connect to terminal devices with the industry standard Quick Disconnect interface.

- Quick Disconnect TASKA Hands require 6-band Coaxial connections to allow full compatibility with pattern recognition systems.
- The battery life of the prosthesis may be improved by configuring the TASKA Hand to 'economy mode'.
- TASKA recommends the upgrade to accept an auxiliary TASKA Battery when operating with a Utah Arm 3/3+.
