Being able to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), such as holding and using utensils, tying shoelaces, or holding a glass of water, plays a big part in our mission to restore confidence and empower individuals with an upper limb difference.
Both the TASKA HandGen2 and TASKA CX™ enable users to hold cutlery utilising the Flexitool grip – one of the most popular and highly recommended grips for TASKA users.
A highly versatile grip, the Flexitool allows users to wedge utensils between the fingers, offering unparalleled grip security. It offers the ability to position the utensil at different angles, minimising compensatory movements.
To use cutlery, we recommend placing the handle between the little and ring finger and resting it underneath the thumb, then closing the hand onto the handle. If the item is long and slender, the handle can be placed between the index and middle fingers. Or between middle and ring fingers, depending on the user’s preference.
