After breaking both arms in a mountain bike accident, inventor Mat Jury was offered a glimpse - albeit a fleeting one - into the challenges faced by amputees every day. After some initial research, he witnessed the limitations of the multi-articulating prosthetic hands available in the market and decided to build his own prototype, aiming to address those limitations.
From running experiments in his garage back in 2010, and gaining insights from experts, clinicians, and users around the world, Mat came to the conclusion that an ideal multi-articulating prosthetic hand should be durable, reliable, and waterproof. “I wanted to create a hand that would last and allow users to pursue whatever activities they wanted, whenever they desired,” Mat affirms.
In 2018, TASKA launched its first product, the large TASKA HandGen1, in New Zealand, Australian and American markets, and in 2019, the medium-sized hand was released. The product was improved, and in 2021 the TASKA HandGen2 in medium and large was launched, discontinuing the production of the TASKA HandGen1.
2022 saw the launch of the TASKA CX™ small hand. Its robust and anatomically correct design is durable, reliable, and waterproof. It’s also more precise, faster, stronger, and incorporates our latest generation technology.
